Travel Review of Our Stay at INIKA Resorts Coorg

Travel Review of Our Stay at INIKA Resorts Coorg

Last December, my family and I finally decided to take a break from our busy routine and spend some quiet time in the hills. We wanted a place that was peaceful, close to nature, and comfortable for all age groups. After searching online and reading reviews, we chose INIKA Resorts in Coorg, near Madikeri.

This article is our honest travel review based on our personal experience—what we enjoyed, what we felt, and why this stay became so special for our family.

About Our Family Trip

Let me first introduce us.

I am Rahul Sharma, and I traveled with my wife Neha, our two children (Aarav, 10, and Riya, 7), and my parents. So, we were six people in total—three generations traveling together.

Our main goal was simple:

Spend quality time together

Enjoy nature

Stay somewhere calm and safe

Avoid crowded tourist areas

INIKA Resorts seemed to match all these needs.

First Impressions – Reaching the Resort

We reached Coorg by car from Bangalore. As we entered the Virajpet side, the surroundings slowly changed. Busy roads turned into quiet plantation roads, and tall trees and coffee estates appeared on both sides.

When we finally reached the resort, the first thing we noticed was the silence. There was no traffic noise, no horns—only birds and wind through the trees.

The reception area was simple and welcoming. The staff greeted us politely and helped with our luggage. Check-in was quick and smooth, which was a relief after a long drive.

Right from the start, we felt relaxed.

Our Stay – Cottages and Comfort

We booked two luxury cottages so that everyone could stay comfortably.

Our Cottage Experience

The cottages were:

Spacious

Clean

Well-lit

Surrounded by greenery

Each cottage had:

Comfortable beds

Clean bathrooms

Balcony facing nature

Tea/coffee setup

Basic amenities

My parents appreciated the calm environment and easy walking paths. The kids loved sitting on the balcony and watching birds and butterflies.

At night, it was very quiet. We slept peacefully without any disturbance, which is rare in city hotels.

Daily Life at INIKA – Slow and Relaxing

One of the best things about INIKA Resorts is the slow lifestyle it offers. There is no rush, no pressure to follow a strict schedule.

Morning Routine

Every morning, we woke up to:

Fresh air

Misty views

Bird sounds

We usually went for short walks inside the plantation. My father enjoyed these walks the most. He said it reminded him of village life from his childhood.

After that, we had breakfast at the dining area. The food was fresh and simple—South Indian dishes, fruits, and hot coffee.

Plantation Walks

One evening, the staff arranged a short coffee plantation walk. They explained:

How coffee is grown

When it is harvested

How beans are processed

It was educational and interesting, especially for our children. They were surprised to learn how much work goes into making a cup of coffee.

Swimming Pool & Games

The resort has a clean swimming pool. Our kids spent almost two hours there every day.

There were also:

Badminton court

Indoor games

Open lawns

These small things made the stay more enjoyable.

Campfire Evenings

One night, there was a small campfire arrangement. We sat together, shared stories, and enjoyed the cool weather.

This became one of our favorite memories from the trip.

Exploring Nearby Places

Although the resort itself was enough to relax, we also explored nearby attractions.

Places We Visited

During our stay, we visited:

Abbey Falls

Raja’s Seat

Madikeri Fort

A nearby viewpoint

All these places were within comfortable driving distance. After sightseeing, it always felt good to return to the peaceful resort.

INIKA’s location made travel easy while keeping us away from crowded tourist zones.

Hospitality – The Heart of the Experience

What truly made our stay special was the staff.

They were:

Polite

Helpful

Respectful

Always ready to assist

When my mother needed hot water late at night, they arranged it immediately. When we asked for local travel tips, they gave honest suggestions instead of pushing packages.

We never felt like “customers.” We felt like guests.

Food Experience

The food at INIKA Resorts deserves special mention.

Meals We Had

We mostly had:

South Indian breakfasts

Rice, dal, vegetables for lunch

Light dinner options

On one night, we requested simple home-style food for my parents, and the staff happily arranged it.

Everything was fresh and hygienic. There were no stomach issues during the trip, which is very important when traveling with family.

Cost & Budget – Was It Worth It?

Many people ask about pricing, so here is our honest view.

Our Approximate Cost

For our family of six:

Stay (2 cottages, 3 nights): ₹9,000–₹12,000 per night (approx, seasonal)

Food: Mostly included / reasonable extra

Travel & sightseeing: Separate

Overall, our total cost was around ₹35,000–₹45,000 for the trip.

Value for Money

Considering:

Location

Comfort

Privacy

Service

Experience

We felt it was good value for money. It was not cheap, but it was worth what we paid.

Guests We Met – Travelers from Different Places

During our stay, we met people from:

Bangalore

Chennai

Hyderabad

Mumbai

Kerala

There were couples, families, and even solo travelers.

Most of them had one thing in common—they were looking for peace, not parties.

This showed us that INIKA attracts the right type of travelers who respect nature and calm surroundings.

Best Things We Personally Loved

After spending four days there, here are our favorite parts:

Peaceful plantation environment

Spacious private cottages

Friendly staff

Clean surroundings

Family-friendly atmosphere

No loud crowds

Safe for children and elders

These small things made a big difference.

A Few Minor Points (For Honesty)

No place is perfect. So, to be fair, here are some small points:

Limited nightlife (not an issue for us)

No big shopping nearby

Internet speed can be slow sometimes

But honestly, these did not affect our experience. In fact, slow internet helped us disconnect.

Who Should Choose INIKA Resorts?

Based on our experience, INIKA Resorts is best for:

Families with kids and elders

Couples looking for privacy

Nature lovers

Slow travelers

People avoiding crowds

It may not suit those looking for party resorts or luxury city-style hotels.

Our Final Thoughts

Our stay at INIKA Resorts was not just a holiday—it was a refreshing break from daily life.

We laughed more.

We talked more.

We slept better.

We felt calmer.

In today’s fast life, finding such places is rare.

For our family, this trip created memories that we will remember for years.

We are already planning to visit again next year.

Would We Recommend INIKA Resorts?

Yes, without hesitation.

If you are planning a Coorg trip with your family and want:

Peace

Comfort

Nature

Honest hospitality

Then INIKA Resorts is definitely worth considering.
